The Seville, City of Opera app offers an exciting new way of visiting and exploring one of the most fascinating cities in the world.
Seville has played an important role in the history of opera. The city has provided the setting for over 100 operas, including Carmen, The Barber of Seville, Don Giovanni, La Favorita, Fidelio, The Marriage of Figaro and The Force of Destiny. In many cases the fictional settings correspond to real locations which can be visited following the routes proposed in the downloadable “SEVILLE, CITY OF OPERA” app. These itineraries combine history, heritage, legends and famous characters, allowing the visitor to go beyond fiction to discover the historic reality of Seville and its marvellous monuments and locations.
The operas featured are important universal creations by composers like Mozart, Beethoven and Bizet, that for centuries have made Seville internationally famous and thanks to which it has become one of the European cities most frequently recreated in operatic works.
